A real community hub, The Hare was taken over by Matt and Katie Beamish in 2020 and have since sympathetically refurbished throughout to enhance its many original architectural features both inside and out, to create warm and welcoming spaces with a contemporary rustic vibe. Behind the bar, a weekly changing selection of cask real ales and seasonal cocktails and bottled lagers, and on the wine list, Old and New World varieties.
In the kitchen head chef, Matt Dare, originally from Devon, maintains The Hare’s long-established reputation for its excellent, daily changing blackboard menu championing spanking fresh, responsibly sourced fish and seafood delivered daily from Brixham, alongside good value, weekly changing a la carte menus focuses on local seasonal produce, including meat and game, to create excellent pub classics.
